Mississippi's Oldest Golf Course - Historic Great Southern Golf Club
Mississippi’s oldest golf course, established in 1908, is located on the Gulf of Mexico. Designed by Charles Nieman inspired by Donald Ross. Features square greens and also was a PGA Tour stop in 1944-45 when Sam Snead battled Byron Nelson in a playoff. While the clubhouse was destroyed by Katrina - the two holes damaged were totally restored with NEW Greens and Tees - Great Southern is still a great place to play one of the most historic courses in the United States
